This fan works great! It has 3 speeds, low, medium and high. The high is strong and provides a nice breeze on hot days. We use it outside to deter the bugs and mosquitoes, and it does a great job. It is very quiet, even on the highest speed. There is a 2 prong power cord and the fan requires no assembly. You do have the ability to tilt it up or down so you can angle it where you need. Highly recommend this fan. It is sturdy and well made!

I like the fan but why the heck did you need to put the controls on the BACK of it, so they're impossible to reach. I have to take the thing off the desk every time I want to turn it on or off. Put the controls on the FRONT.

This is a multi use fan. MY use for it is as a breeze blowing gently on my dog when the weather outside is too hot for him. He has a cooling mat to stretch out on, which he does a lot! And blowing right on him so gently, but serving the purpose, is his fan. It is easy to use, quiet, and a very welcome addition to my home. (The dog thinks so too!)

Like everything else, simple fans are nowadays too expensive. When I started looking, the fan I liked was a very modern design, with a very high-tech look, like a drum. But it cost almost twice as much as this simple Amazon Basics fan, and if there are any real advantages of that other fan, they probably don't amount to much. I wanted a simple fan that I could set either on the floor or a table, and with three speeds. There are lots of fans with just two speeds, and I don't think that gives you enough choices. Fan noise needs to be judged relative to the air output and speed, and on this basis, this is a quiet fan. There is no way for me to know how long it will last. What I do know and can tell you is that this is a perfectly good fan for the size it is, and that the value is good. Ultimately, the value is always what matters most, and this fan is definitely a good value. Recommended.

This fan is so powerful! I bought this fan to help keep me cool at night because I am such a warm bodied sleeper. Even having my room set at 67, I still get hot when I sleep. So I bought this fan to help keep my room colder and let me tell you.. this fan's range is amazing!! I have it on my desk blowing towards my bed and even at a good distance, I still feel the fan breeze on me. I used to sleep with a large fan blowing on me while i slept for many years and I loved the soft sound of the fan too while i slept. This fan on the lowest setting is actually pretty quiet and is very soothing to hear. I only use the first setting of level 1 while I sleep and it blows really far and well all night. The size is pretty decent too as it doesn't take up much room on my desk.

This is my first time trying this fan that arrived today. It is crazy powerful for such a small fan. I did a test on it, by putting it on my kitchen counter.

Level 3, I went across the room about 18 feet, and it blew my hair and was plenty cool.

Level 2 was still blowing very well at 12-15 feet.

Level one blew comfortably at 7-10 feet. I saw that a few people said it didn't last long. As for me, I'd would buy it every couple of months if that's as long as it last.
At this price point, it would be worth it to me. The only reason for the 4 stars is that it doesn't tilt downward very much but that is not a game changer to me. I would definitely recommend this fan.

Amazon basics 7 inch is an low priced fan that can quietly move air. The low cost shaded pole motor gets really hot. A 5A fuse is in the plug, tested out of box on a killawatt meter it uses 0.6A 120V, 42W, 75VA at 2033 rpm (high or 3). Over time the fan will slow down from dust buildup and the oil drying up in motor. The instructions tell how to replace the fuse but they don't mention how to open the fan for cleaning and reoiling. You could try turning the fan to see if it is jammed. There is a screw on the back of the grill near the bottom. Removing the screw allows turning the front to unlock it. It's possible it might be easier to just order a replacement.

As good as the far more expensive brand! I used Vornado fans exclusively for years, because the quality was so high and the performance was excellent. I needed a smaller version for a specific location and Vornado was sold out, so I bought one of these little fans for cheap thinking it would be better than nothing until the Vornado was back in stock. To my astonishment, it is equal to the Vornado in performance in every way. I still have that fan, and have purchased a few more for other locations, and one to keep in my car in case I go somewhere too hot (most houses here do not have AC, and I overheat easily. It is easy to transport. Small, but mighty!

It works fine. Only reason for the one star ding is that it only articulates from blowing straight out (level) to up. The one we've has and is starting to make some noise articulated downward, which is what we want it to do. We've shimmed this one up a bit on a folded towel and it's OK. It sits n a taller dresser to circulate air in the bedroom at night.

This is a great fan with three different levels and the only downside is that the dial is on the back so it’s hard to reach over and turn it on and off on the nightstand. I took a Star away for this but if you don’t care about that then it gets an additional star.

Very powerful but also quite. I like how it works great next to my bed an cool the whole area around me even on low. I would highly recommend it to anyone

I purchase this little fan in Jan 2024. It’s still blowing strong with amazing airflow. I love how I can adjust the angle of the fan. The size also makes it easy to clean and it is extremely durable. It blends in perfectly with my room.

I am someone who loves keeping the fan on at all times and this little fan has really come in clutch for me. Will purchase again.

Small mighty fan that doesn't have the white fan noise and it doesn't tilt downwards at all the way I like but its a good personal fan. Wishing that level 3-2 was a little faster. Very much cools me off and it looks and feels new. Not sure about how long it would last but I feel that it might last a few years. I constantly run fans 24/7 it's a comfort thing.

Great as a desk or table fan! I keep this fan on a collapsible table next to my bed and it helps at night to cool me down (I naturally run hot) so having this in conjunction with my ceiling fan, I'm able to stay cool year-round! Easy to install, just plug in and adjust the dial on the back of the fan to suit your needs!!

This fan works really well! It’s compact, powerful for its size, and perfect for sleeping. The airflow is strong and surprisingly quiet.

The only odd thing is the dial — the speed settings are labeled 0-3-2-1 instead of the usual 0-1-2-3. It doesn’t affect the performance at all, just a bit confusing at first. Once you figure out the order, it’s no problem.

Overall, a solid buy!

I bought 3. One for work, one for my make up table and beside my bed. I have been using 1 of them for two years now. On low it puts out good amount of air. I am on my work phone a lot and not one person has commented that it was hard to hear me. Not loud so I can hear them. IMO this is the perfect portable fan. btw i have never had it above the lowest setting, not needed.

I just started using the fan today and I'll update this review if I change my mind, but right now I highly recommend this fan. It's nowhere near hot enough for a/c yet, but I really needed something to get the air moving. I put the fan about ten feet from my bed and turned it on the highest setting. Even with a blanket, I had to get up and turn it down. Added bonus - it makes just enough noise to drown out distracting household sounds so it is perfect for sleeping.

JUNE 15, 2025….ALSO, I thought I’d post my experience after purchasing a container of fuses, which unfortunately didn’t solve my problem. I can’t imagine getting a container of 15 bad fuses, I patiently tried each and every one of them and my fan was silent. I still give this fan 5 stars because I plugged it in and honestly don’t recall ever unplugging it until it had gotten cold outside, so I got more than my moneys worth out of it.
I recall reading other reviews about the difficulty of being able to throughly clean this little fan, so I decided since mine quit I would look into taking it apart so it could be cleaned. It’s actually very easy and it can be put back together without any damage to the fan.
There’s one tiny Phillips screw holding the front grill in addition to four built in clips on the front grill that snap into place when put together with the back grill. The first thing you should do is loosen the Phillips screw by going in from the back grill to where the screw sits on the inside of the grill rim. It doesn’t need to be completely removed, just unscrew it enough so that it is separated from the front grill and then leave the screw in its place so you can put back together after cleaning.
Around the grill rim you’ll be able to see where the two pieces separate. I had to use a tiny regular screwdriver to slide in between the two grills and a flashlight helps to see the four different areas where they snap together. I was able to slide the screwdriver into each place and gently lift and let the clip move past and gently separate the two grill pieces as I went around the fan edge until I had the front grill removed so it could be cleaned easily. After cleaning just align the grills starting with the Phillips screw being lined up first and tighten slightly until you make sure the clips and brackets are in line and they should just snap back into place one at a time! I hope this helps those of you who still have your little fans going 😌

Last May 2024 I purchased two of these little fans for personal use even though we have ceiling fans in every room in our house it’s still nice to have a nice little breeze all to yourself because not everyone has the same preferences especially when it comes to sleeping with a fan on.
I found this one to be very close to ideal as far as noise level goes. In fact in my opinion it doesn’t make enough noise for me when I go to sleep but not everyone likes to hear the humming of a fan to lull them into sleep.
For such a little fan it moves a lot of air. From the moment I received mine it was up and running 24/7 from early May throughout all of the Spring, Summer, Fall and all through Winter.
I open my windows every day even in winter for 5-10 minutes just to get some fresh air in the house, so the little fans have been helpful for circulating the fresh air.
I decided while I was going to use the air compressor to blow out the dust from my ceramic tower heaters and store them away, I would also blow the dust out from my fans at the same time.
I plugged my fan in the other day and it wouldn’t turn on and I thought I had done something to it but realized that it’s more than likely a blow Fuse that’s located in the cord plug 🔌. It shouldn’t be so difficult to locate the correct fuse on Amazon (for a 2.5 Amp 125 Volt fuse) but every item I’ve looked at has a notice stating customers have returned, so I wish I could get some insight on which ones to purchase because it’s a huge hassle trying to send something back when there’s no UPS drop off locations near my home.
Amazon please consider including an extra Fuse with this fan, or even possibly linking the correct fuse as a companion purchase with this fan.
Most people are not accustomed to noticing they have a sliding door on their plug 🔌 for a fuse to go in. I’ll just be happy if that’s what’s wrong with my little fan 😊

Having the correct size definitely makes it much easier to find and purchase what I need to keep on hand!!
I still think they should include an extra fuse.
